CalHR Releases Pay Letter Implementing July 1, 2024 Salary Increases

On July 17, 2024, CalHR issued Pay Letter 24-20 implementing General Salary Increases and Special Salary Adjustments (SSA) effective July 1, 2024 for supervisors and managers.

The State Controller’s Office also processed the increases on July 17, 2024 meaning the salary increases will be reflected in the next pay warrant covering the July 2024 pay period.

As a reminder, the General Salary Increases effective July 1, 2024 are:

EXCLUDED EMPLOYEES AFFILIATED WITH BARGAINING UNIT: GSI (General Salary Increase)
1, 3, 4, 11, 14, 15, 17, 20, 21 (SEIU Units) 3%
2 4.5% (SSA top step only)
6 3%
7 2%
9 2%
12 4%
13 4%
16 2.5%
18 4%
19 2.5%
  • Supervisory and managerial scientists in classifications covered by the “Like Pay Like Work” decision will receive a 2% salary increase. (See page 22 of Pay Letter 24-20 for a list of classes.) For excluded scientists not covered by the LPLW decision, ACSS continues advocacy with CalHR in requesting an appropriate salary adjustment effective July 1, 2024.
  • In addition to the GSI, supervisors in the Manager I, DMV classification will receive a 3.35% SSA effective July 1, 2024 in response to an ACSS salary compaction proposal.
  • The Pay Letter adds “Range T” to the Health Records Technician III classification effective July 1, 2024
  • The Pay Letter reflects the longevity pay longevity increases for S07/M07 non-PO/FF classes and S18/M18 classes and establishes seniority pay for nursing classifications with 17+ years.
