As the 2014 primary election draws closer, ACSS leaders have stepped up their review of assembly and senate candidates to find the best potential advocates for state supervisors, managers, and confidential employees.
One of the decisive factors in our success in moving toward a real fix for salary compaction can be attributed to our non-partisan work to put pro-supervisor candidates in office in 2012 (and hold them accountable at events like our annual Lobby Day.)

This past weekend several other ACSS leaders and I had a chance to speak with freshman Assemblymember Scott Wilk (R-Santa Clarita).
Assemblymember Wilk spoke of working together with ACSS to get things done across the state. He recognized that ACSS and our members are "the people that really make things happen" for California.
I am optimistic that we'll be able to continue our work with both sides of the aisle to fix some of the issues - like salary compaction - that have plagued our members for far too long.
