Robert Brodie

Statement for Secretary/Treasurer
Greetings to all. My name is Dr. Robert Brodie, I am a Senior Psychologist Supervisor at Patton State Hospital, and it is with great pleasure that I seek to become the Secretary/Treasurer for ACSS Chapter 514. This would be my second term in the position and I must say my first was enlightening. I learned about, I witnessed, I experienced, ACSS in action; but my first year serving was only an introduction to ACSS. I learned how our local political candidates and state representatives respect the body and members of ACSS. I witnessed the assistance that ACSS provided to our fellow supervisors within the state. I experienced the growing strength of ACSS and I would like to assist the association in becoming stronger. It is through your support by electing me once again into office, that I can continue to support you, the California Sate Supervisors, in your endeavors and assist you when problems arise. I understand that compaction remains a significant concern for us all and that is the primary focus for our upcoming year. I look forward to serving and assisting you in whatever the new year brings.

Mary Huckabaa

Statement for Delegate
I have been an employee of the State of California since 1999. I have served my entire tenure as an attorney representing policy holders and the State Agencies of California in defending workers' compensation cases as a line attorney (direct representation), supervision of a unit of line attorneys from 2010 to 2013 and currently supervising the unit of attorneys handling all Appellate cases for workers' compensation since 2013. I have been described by clients and consultants as having "executive presence". I was raised in a union family, attending AFL-CIO-CWA (Communication Workers' of America) union meetings, grievances, political rallies and legislative meetings with lobbyists. I am an accomplished public speaker and founding member of our local Toastmasters group. I would be proud to serve as delegate, representing Chapter 514. It is my retirement goal to seek public office as Assembly Member for my District. I appreciate your confidence in my abilities.

Mohammad Noor

Statement for Delegate
I began my career with the State in 2005 as a Financial Institutions Examiner (FIE), then promoted to Financial Institutions Manager in 2021. Before my promotion, I was actively involved in SEIU 1000. I led the effort to have our classification selected for the recruitment and retention process. I organized Examiners, drove our membership to over 80%, and won our first SSA in 2017. In 2019, I organized Examiners in another division and led them to successfully achieve parity with FIEs. I also ran for and was elected as a CBUR and ultimately onto the Bargaining Team for the 2020 contract negotiations.  Now as a Manager, I am still interested in serving.  With your vote, I would be proud to serve my fellow excluded employees as an ACSS Delegate. Thank you.

Kimberly Rushing

Statement for Delegate
My name is Kimberly Rushing. I am seeking a seat as a delegate member of the Association California State Supervisors (ACSS). I have been a state employee for approximately 26 years. I have worked in various departments including the Department of Developmental Services, Department of State Hospitals, and currently California Correctional Health Care Services. I am responsible for contributing to developing facility policies and procedures, promoting professional staff development, onboarding new employees, and ensuring employees’ rights were protected. I currently work as a Supervising Registered Nurse II at the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. The various positions and responsibilities that I had during my tenure has been an asset in my career development and has taught me many skill sets. Becoming a delegate of the ACSS will allow me to use my skills to represent the voice of the members. I believe in fairness and equality. I am a team player, quick learner, and a detail-oriented person. I am excited to become more involved as an elected member of ACSS. If elected as an ACSS delegate, I will dedicate my time and efforts to make a difference to the members. I respectfully request your vote for ACSS delegate.

Sjoekje Sasbone

My name is Sjoekje F. Sasbone, LCSW, EMHA. I am writing for re-election as the Chapter 514 Chapter President. During my first term, I held the position of Chapter 514 president in serious high regard. I have been a California state supervisor since 2007 as a Senior Social Worker and a Program Assistant for the Department of State Hospitals. In the 17 years of being a supervisor within the California state system, I have an unwavering dedication towards resolving the ongoing compaction issues and pension retention for each of us who serve in these vital roles within our State facilities/organizations. I have the utmost respect and try to assist the Chapter 514 members and each ACSS member outside of our chapter who has reached out to me in the past. If re-elected, I will continue to pledge my unwavering commitment to fairness by instilling the ACSS Mission, Vision, and Values in my advocacy. Thank you for your consideration.
