Statement for Delegate
Hello,
I am Tahnda Bailey, an Information Technology Supervisor II with Caltrans and I am running to be your delegate. I humbly ask for your vote.
I am a daughter, mother, wife, community partner, IT professional, mentor and a lifetime union member. Each of these roles are intertwined and have a common characteristic, a passion for helping people succeed. As your delegate, I’ll gain new insight on how we can most effectively address our concerns and needs as State workforce leaders. I promise to fully share my experiences as your delegate. I also promise that I’ll use what I learn to support our union leadership to make improve our collective work experience.

Statement for Chapter President
Fellow Chapter Members, as a 25-year State employee with 18-years in state supervision with CDTFA, I would like your vote to be your Chapter 511 President. In the past four years, I noticed that the State's new hybrid work environment came with new concerns and some uncertainty for managers and supervisors. For our newest State Supervisors, they are unsure of how ACSS supports them. Because of the new norm, there is a greater need than ever to understand our roles, be well informed; and, most importantly, to seek answers concerning the protection of our rights and benefits as exempt employees. I advocate for more chapter lunch/dinner meetings including virtual ones to meet together where we can voice our concerns to directly our ACSS Labor Representative, Board of Directors, Chapter Officers, and to each other. I will work together with our Chapter V.P. and Secretary/Treasurer as a team to bring the meetings around the Los Angeles area. Our Chapter Officer team and I will work hard for you because we collectively support the same cause to protect rights and benefits of the State's managers and supervisors. Fellow Chapter Members, as a 25-year State employee with 18-years in state supervision with CDTFA, I would like your vote again to be your elected Chapter 511 Delegate as I would like to continue to be YOUR voice at the ACSS Delegate Assembly. Active participation at the ACSS Chapter Meetings is important for all managers and supervisors to stay well informed with their rights and benefits as the State's exempt employees.  I advocate for more chapter lunch/dinner meetings including virtual ones so I can hear and understand your concerns in order to better represent you and our Chapter 511 at the Delegate Assembly. Statement for Delegate, Chapter Vice President, Secretary/Treasurer
My name is Siosiua “Josh” Hufanga. I am currently a Custodian Supervisor in the Los Angeles Metro region and I have over 7 years in State Service. I worked my way up the ranks from Custodian, to Lead then supervisor by not only excelling at my duties but soaking in all the training and mentorship provided on my path. I learned on that path that for an inclusive and productive staff, their management needs all the training and support to create that healthy environment in any agency. During my journey I’ve experienced issues that need drastic change to promote growth for managers and supervisor alike to not only excel and thrive in their positions. We need communicators to work on our behalf not just to provide equitable compensation for many of our classifications but also to provide strong leadership that will provide support when we need it the most.

My name is Deborah Lambert, and I am a manager with the Employment Development Department, Unemployment Insurance; As a member of ACSS, I have been actively involved in various areas of the organization, such as, Benefits Committee representative, Board Member for Chapter 511, and currently serve as an Executive board member.
As a Delegate, I would like to continue to represent, be a voice and vote according to the interests, values, and concerns of Chapter 511 members. In addition, as a liaison to chapter 511, my goal is to provide the interchanging of information; and to work with other delegates to make sound decisions with the best interest of our Chapter and all ACSS members, to create a sustainable future for our organization.

Statement for Secretary/Treasurer
My Name is Deborah Lambert, and I am a Manager with the Employment Development Department and have been a member of ACSS since my transition to management. As the Secretary/Treasurer, for our chapter, my goal is to assist the chapter in maintaining membership and financial records, as well as, retaining historical documents of our past meeting and preserving future chapter health by implementing ways to increase members participation; by utilizing the expansion of meeting locations throughout the 511 Jurisdiction as well as the internet, to increase information distribution.

Statement for Delegate
Elect me, Philicia Maxwell, as a delegate for Chapter 511 of ACSS.  As a delegate, I can have a hands-on approach to creating and promoting positive change.  After my first ACSS Chapter meeting, in 2019, I knew I wanted to be involved.  I heard about our rights as mangers and probationary managers, why ACSS is important, what ACSS has accomplished and will accomplish in the future. In 2021, I was elected as a delegate of Chapter 512. It was a privilege and honor to speak with other elected officials in ACSS about what ACSS has learned from the past, exchanging idea and planning for our future. Elect me, Philicia Maxwell, and together we will continue to move in the positive direction.

Statement for Chapter Vice President
I am running for Chapter Vice-President for this election because I believe that every great organization needs someone who is willing to make things successful without being concerned about who gets the credit. The role of Vice President is to make things happen behind the scenes in a way that makes the vision of the President and the well being of the chapter a reality in detail as well as outline. I have great leadership , problem solving skills and decision making abilities. I am great at putting the flesh on policies and I am great at reaching out to the ones that may not feel like they are the focus of the association. As Vice-President, I can be close enough to the center to help people feel connected, yet I can be free enough to reach out to those who are not normally included. I want to learn more about our association from the inside out, and I am going to use this experience to prepare me to take leadership roles in the future.

Hello fellow ACSS members. I am asking for your vote to be a delegate in the upcoming Delegate conference. I represent managers who are dedicated and always do their vest to provide CA residents with critical services. This would be for me a second time being a delegate. It’s a great way to get involved with the association and I encourage everyone to participate as a delegate in future opportunities. Thank you for your consideration.

ACSS is such a great way to meet and support other State managers. Since the pandemic, we have lost that opportunity. I am asking for your support, so I can use my Administrative skills to further develop our Ch. 511 to be a dynamic team.

Hello! My name is Faheemah Usher. I am a Staff Services Manager I at the Department of Justice – Office of the Attorney General. I am interest in being a Chapter 511 Delegate. Your vote for me will mean Chapter 511’s membership will have fair representation. If I am elected as a Delegate, I will ensure that I represent Chapter 511 members’ interests during the Delegate Assembly. I also have previous experience as a Delegate and Chapter Secretary during my previous ACSS membership from 2017-2016. I wish all the candidates the best. Thank you for reading my statement.

Statement for Chapter Vice President
I am Dionne Faulk and I currently serve as your Chapter Secretary-Treasurer. I humbly request your vote to be your Chapter Vice President because it is time for real change that you can appreciate. I have been an active and engaged member of ACSS for over ten years and I have been with the State for 19 years.
As your Vice President, I will immediately advocate to start planning our chapter meetings throughout the Los Angeles region. I believe that having our chapter meetings in the same location for the last several years is unfair and inequitable to all members.
We can also do a lot more to educate members, raise political awareness, and engage members in the election and legislative process. As an elected official for the City of Inglewood, I will use my political connections to bring elected officials to our Chapter meetings to meet with you and engage in intimate conversations about what is important to you and ACSS.

Greetings Chapter 511, I humbly ask for your vote for Delegate. 
I have been an advocate and member of ACSS for approximately 12 years. As an active and engaged member of ACSS, I have served as your Southern California Regional Representative and I currently serve as your Chapter 511 Secretary/Treasurer and have been in this role since 2022. I have lobbied with you in Sacramento for many years focusing on SB 216.  I also serve as the California State Employee Association “CSEA” Foundation Board President granting scholarships to deserving students.  
I am a Division Chief for the California Environmental Protection Agency, Department of Toxic Substances Control.  
In my personal life, I am an elected official where I was first elected to the Inglewood School Board in 2017. In 2020, I became the first African American woman elected to the Inglewood City Council.  
I am a native of Los Angeles, California where I graduated from California State University Dominguez Hills with a BA in Economics and a minor in Political Science. I went on to earn a law degree. I am married and the mother of two adorable sons.
